Level 2 Teaching Assistant In Key Stage 2
Term Time Annual Salary £16,365
Temporary contract – 27.5 hours per week – term time plus 3 inset days - Initially for one academic year, to Aug 2026
We are looking for an excellent Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join Abbey Mead Primary Academy, which is part of The Mead Educational Trust. This role is varied but will mainly focus upon the development of pupils in the Foundation Stage and KS1/KS2; alongside supporting children in small group work and interventions.
We are looking for:
- An enthusiastic and energetic Teaching Assistant to work either on a 1:1 basis or with pupils in small groups to undertake interventions specifically designed to close gaps in attainment.
- A demonstrable commitment to ensuring all children make excellent progress.

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above (desirable).
- Previous experience of class supervision and assisting with lesson provision to achieve positive learning outcomes.
- Teaching Assistant qualification desirable
- A proven ability to work on their own initiative.
- A high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults.
- Ability to be empathetic and understanding to the needs of students
- The ability to use relevant technology/equipment.
- A proactive attitude.
- A commitment to the happiness well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school
