We are seeking to appoint an excellent classroom practitioner or current middle leader who is committed to providing the very best outcomes for all of our students to join our team from 1st September 2024. The English department provides the opportunity to lead a well-qualified and experienced team to make a real difference to the learning of our young people. The successful candidate will be creative, imaginative and a drive to become an excellent leader who is passionate about developing their own personal pedagogy to motivate and enthuse students and the rest of the department. The successful candidate will not only be able to deliver exciting and effective learning in the classroom but will also lead the English department and liaise with our Middle Leadership Team Leaders to develop our provision to ensure that ‘Everyone Succeeds’.
Leading English at Abbeywood School will be a dynamic and exciting role and offers an excellent opportunity to join a driven and innovative department. The English team have planned a concept-led curriculum at Key Stage 3 which is both inspiring and engaging, supporting learner's progress into Key Stage 4 and 5 where they study AQA qualifications in both Language and Literature at GCE and at A Level. The team work closely with other colleagues in the Academy Trust and the role would give an excellent opportunity to work alongside other English middle leaders in developing and reviewing curriculum provision for our learners.
Professional development is incredibly important to us at Abbeywood; an emerging or experienced middle leader would have support from the Senior Leadership Team and also at Trust level, with leadership training opportunities provided. We also run a broad CPD programme, which supports middle leaders in driving forward improvement at faculty level with dedicated development and curriculum time throughout the year.
