Dilton Marsh Church of England Primary School is looking to appoint a Catering Assistant to join our school and support our dedicated and friendly team with kitchen preparation and stock handling.
Working Hours: Part Time (15.3 hours per week, Monday – Friday 11am until 2pm, 38 weeks per year – no Teacher Training Days). Required: ASAP.
We are a happy and popular, single form entry, primary school, educating children between the ages of 5 and 11. Located in the charming village of Dilton Marsh, we have strong relationships with the local community and Holy Trinity Church. Our staff are dedicated to providing a safe, happy, caring, creative and nurturing learning environment, where everyone is valued as an individual and encouraged to become independent and resilient learners. Our strong Christian ethos of tolerance and respect flows through the whole school. The successful candidate will be organised and consistent, with a good practical aptitude and must be able to observe health and safety regulations. Experience is preferred, although training will be provided.
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a Level 2 food hygiene certificate (desirable but not essential);
- Has a good understanding of food handling, preparation and hygiene;
- Has strong interpersonal and communication skills and is able to work with a variety of pupils and staff, and build good relationships;
- Has excellent practical and organisational skills;
- Is self-motivated dedicated and consistent, and takes pride in their work;
- Has the ability to deal with new challenging situations;
- Is a strong team player who can use their own initiative;
- Is aware of health and safety requirements;
- Can thrive working in a busy environment;
- Has a positive and flexible attitude.
