Welcome to Ansford Academy, where education is about everyone achieving his or her best, while developing individual character and personality. We are a mixed 11-16 comprehensive school with approximately 500 students. At Ansford, we are committed to creating a great place to learn, work and grow. Our motto, learning together to lead our lives, reflects our passionate belief in equipping individuals with the skills to make a success of their lives – to secure useful and rewarding work, make and sustain good relationships and contribute positively to local and global communities. In our fast-moving and challenging world, a strong portfolio of qualifications opens doors and increases opportunities but does not guarantee success. Our focus at Ansford Academy – for students, teachers, associate staff and families – is on learning how to be the best we can be.

At Ansford, we are committing to creating a great place to learn, work and grow. Learning together to lead our lives, reflects our belief in equipping individuals with the skills to make a success of their lives – to secure useful and rewarding work, make and sustain good relationships and contribute positively to local and global communities.
Our focus at Ansford Academy – for students, teachers, associate staff and families – is on learning how to be the best we can be. We seek to achieve this through:
At Ansford we use the motto “Aspire, Respect, Engage”. Our motto “ARE” encapsulates the core values of Ansford Academy. The phrase reflects the school’s commitment to encouraging ambition, fostering mutual respect, and promoting active participation among its students.
We seek to raise the aspirations and expectations of all students by providing challenge and opportunity within our curriculum. The goal is to help our students reach their full potential and be ambitious for their futures.
Mutual respect is central to our ethos. It is taught and promoted through school rules, curriculum, community events, and sports. This includes respecting individual students and their potential for growth.
We work to create opportunities for all students to be active participants in their learning and development. This includes engagement in a wide range of academic and enrichment activities, such as school trips, school productions, sporting events and extracurricular clubs. We also encourage students to engage with their community and the wider world.

The Midsomer Norton Schools' Partnership was founded in 2009 following the hard federation between Norton Hill and Somervale Secondary Schools. Since this point the Trust has grown to include other secondary schools and a large number of primary schools, which are all located in the Southwest of England: Bath and North East Somerset, Somerset and North Somerset. The full list of schools that are members of the Trust are shown above.
Midsomer Norton Schools' Partnership provides support and challenge to all of our schools so that our entire community of children and young people can achieve their best. The unique character of each school is celebrated and nurtured to ensure choice and variety in educational provision. The Trust is committed to providing a broad, balanced and aspirational curriculum in all of its schools, so that all children and young people develop the character and qualifications needed to open doors to their future success. A strong focus on developing and providing inspirational teaching and leadership in all schools, through school-to-school improvement, ensures outstanding progress and educational enjoyment for all members of our partnership’s community.
