Exam Invigilator Role Summary

This is a casual, as-required position at Ansford Academy that pays £12.85 per hour plus 12.07% holiday pay.

Purpose - The main goal is to supervise internal and external examinations to ensure they are conducted according to strict regulations, thereby providing a fair and positive environment for students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise candidates and maintain order to prevent misconduct.
  • Prepare the exam room (seating, signage, etc.).
  • Handle and distribute/collect exam materials securely and efficiently.
  • Check candidate identification and attendance.
  • Act as a prompt or scribe for students with access arrangements (if required).
  • Report irregularities and respond appropriately to emergencies.

Essential Requirements

The ideal candidate is reliable, punctual, and calm under pressure, with a strong attention to detail to follow strict procedures. Essential criteria include good literacy and numeracy skills (e.g., 5 GCSEs at Grade C/equivalent) and a genuine desire to help students with patience and kindness.

Important Notes

  • The role requires mandatory training (up to 3 days initially, plus annual updates).
  • Confidence in using IT platforms for training and pay matters is an advantage.
  • The role is subject to an enhanced DBS check as the Academy is committed to safeguarding.
