Design Technology Technician
Term Time only. 18 Hours per week during the school day (exact hours by agreement)
Grade 2-3 dependant on experience (£13.05- £13.69 per hour) plus holiday pay and generous pension
We are seeking a Technician to work within our Design and Technology (DT) team. The DT curriculum covers Product Design, Textiles, Food and Catering. The purpose of the role is to support staff in the day to day running of the department by providing practical and technical assistance, for which training will be provided. It is a busy and varied role, with the potential to develop a wide range of skills.
Whilst experience of the tasks listed would be an advantage, the nature of the role would suit someone willing to learn on the job, who is keen to develop skills and enjoys a wide variety of tasks of a practical nature. For technical aspects of the role, training by qualification will be offered.
The role is allocated 18 hours per week which is likely to be split over 3 or 4 school days, largely within the school day hours of 8.45 - 15.45. There will also be a need to attend a couple of training days during the year. You will be required to be available during the entirety of term time and annual leave is deemed to be taken during school closure periods. The role is for 38 working weeks and an additional amount in lieu of holidays (44.2 paid weeks).
