Ashford Park opened in 1990, after Hengrove School and Woodthorpe School amalgamated. Our well-maintained buildings are set in beautiful grounds, which the children actively use to support their learning. There are 21 classes, 3 per year group from Reception to year 6, and an SEN COIN centre, with 2 classes. The school is very well equipped with modern furniture and excellent resources in all classrooms. Our grounds have a yurt, reflection garden, bird hide, and a range of gym equipment.
All staff ensure that the classrooms are attractive and stimulating places for the children, where lifelong learning is encouraged and supported. In addition the school offers a cycle rack, a pond area and the Jubilee Garden for children to use all year round. There is a smooth flow of learning throughout our school, we have structured our learning environment, to allow for an Early Years Foundation Stage / KS1 unit, Year 2 3 and 4 building and a Year 5 and 6 junior unit.
We invest heavily in staff professional development, and fund Masters study and NPQs etc.
