SEN Lunchtime Supervisor wanted

We have a vacancy for a lunchtime supervisor to support children with Special Educational Needs over lunchtime.

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic person to join our happy, thriving school.

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Engage with young children with a wide range of additional needs.
  • Help children with eating, including feeding children.
  • Help children with self-care, including wiping hands and faces.
  • Supervise and interact with small groups of children with special needs in the playground.
  • Monitor children and ensure their safety.
  • Work as part of a dedicated team.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The post will involve effectively supervising special needs pupils in and around the school premises in accordance with the general policies, systems and guidelines of the school.

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • The ability to work with children who cannot communicate verbally.
  • Some knowledge of special needs.
  • Patience and understanding.
  • A calm, gentle personality.
  • Understanding of health and safety.
  • Willingness to learn.

Hours of work: one hour a day over lunchtime (exact timings to be confirmed), 38 weeks a year

Pay scale: Lunchtime Supervisors Level 1 (£12.45 per hour)
