Are you an enthusiastic, innovative and ambitious secondary English (and Drama) Teacher ready to take your next step in a managerial role?

Winchcombe School is looking for a permanent full-time Teacher of English to lead the Department (of two teaching colleagues and a librarian). The ideal candidate will be a good leader and a dynamic teacher; in addition to a relevant degree and the necessary teaching qualifications, you’ll be enthusiastic and able to motivate students to achieve their best. We hope that you will foster a lifelong interest in the Arts in our students and will expect you to help oversee an annual extra-curricular stage production, to enhance students’ education and dramatic experience.

We will consider applications from excellent candidates for whom this will be their first leadership role.

Winchcombe School is part of the Balcarras Trust, which we joined in November 2023. We are a friendly co-educational comprehensive school of just over 500 students aged 11-16 located on the outskirts of a historic town near Cheltenham and surrounded by beautiful Cotswold views.
