Welcome to The Balcarras Trust

The Balcarras Trust came into existence on December 1st 2020.

It was formed by the Members and Trustees of the Balcarras Academy Trust, which as a Single Academy Trust (SAT) had oversight of Balcarras School based in Cheltenham.

In 2018, Balcarras was appointed by the Regional Schools' Commissioner to be the sponsor of a new secondary school for Cheltenham. That school—The High School Leckhampton—opened on September 1st 2021.

In 2023, Winchcombe School, an 11-16 Comprehensive School based in the Cotswolds, joined the Trust.

The Trust will establish the highest educational standards in our schools. We believe strongly in the value of comprehensive education and we are committed to the belief that all children should receive an outstanding education regardless of ability, prior attainment or background.
