Beaumont Leys School is a highly successful 11-16 school. We are very proud of the progress our students make, and the destinations that our students go on to; many of our students have challenging backgrounds and low prior attainment on intake and so we are the beacon of hope for their futures. We believe that a high quality education leads not only to transformative exam results for students, but also in great character development. We want students to feel that they belong in our school and develop their sense of self-worth alongside an understanding of the positive impact they can have on those around them.
Together We Achieve Success is our motto and the driving force for our school. Our students thrive because our staff are dedicated to students’ success; to building positive relationships; and to collaborating and working as a team within a supportive environment. We are a school with a heart and soul, and we believe our job is to give our students the best possible chances in life, creating some fantastic lifelong memories along the way.
Our Humanities Faculty is forward looking and innovative with an excellent reputation for maximising individual student potential. It consists of nine members of staff led by a Faculty Team Leader, who is the Head of Geography. They are supported by a Head of History and a Head of Religious Education. We deliver an engaging History curriculum with a Programme of Learning written for Years 7 through to 11. In 2025, our cohort studying GCSE History achieved 23% at grade 7 and above and 61% at grade 4 and above. In GCSE Religious Education, our students achieved results of 26% at grade 7 and above and 76% at grade 4 and above, representing very strong results.
We believe in ‘going the extra mile’ to help support students and staff. In Humanities all staff are expected to teach their GCSE specialist subject as well as Religious Education up to KS4.
We work hard to recruit the best and then we support them to be even better. Our internal promotion record is impressive, even our Headteacher started with us as a newly qualified teacher. We engage extensively with local ITT providers, including Teach First and Researchers into School, and provide an excellent ECF support programme and a strong and well-evaluated programme of professional learning. Our teachers are always learners and as such role model everything we want for our students. Therefore, if you want a forward thinking, dynamic school to take your career to the next level, we would welcome your application.
We are committed to keeping children and young people safe from harm and abuse and to promoting their welfare, and we expect that everyone who comes to work for us will share the same commitment.
All roles within the school are covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975, and are subject to an enhanced DBS check.
