About Us

Bedminster Down offers a rounded and balanced education with teaching that motivates and challenges and exciting opportunities to broaden horizons.

At open days and parents’ evenings families often comment on the calm and purposeful feel of our campus. We’re smaller than many other schools in Bristol and this gives us the opportunity to really get to know every student as they progress through the school. Our arrangements to settle new children into secondary school life are unmatched in the city with a whole week dedicated in the summer term to help our new students get to know us.

We aspire to educate local children to become responsible citizens, fully equipped to take the next step to further education or apprenticeships. Bedminster Down School uses well-established links with sixth forms, colleges and employers to ensure our young people land at a destination that best suits their ambitions.

Working For Us

Working for Wellsway Multi Academy Trust

Being part of this family of schools that is cross stage as well as cross phase allows staff to share best practice across all key stages and across different types of schools and the trust is moving towards its vision of being a truly inclusive provider of 4-19 education in East Bristol and Bath.

The Trust’s strategic vision

  • Wellsway Multi Academy Trust will become a strong local partnership of schools that is cross-phase with a fully inclusive range of provision
