About Us

who we are

Our purpose at Beechen Cliff is to develop the compassion, aspiration, balance and resilience of each pupil. When pupils leave us we want them to be at ease with themselves, to have a sense of self-worth, to be able to stand up for their beliefs and to be a valuable member of society.

We are proudly traditional in our approach and offer a strong academic curriculum. Although methods of teaching and expectations of society have changed, the essence of a high quality education remains unchanged. It is these timeless qualities and Beechen Cliff’s sense of tradition that is valued by generations of parents and pupils.

Our Vision

Aspiration. Compassion. Independence. Respect.

  • Aspiration - Working hard and trying my best at all times, both within and beyond the classroom. Aiming high and challenging myself to fulfil my potential.
  • Compassion - Showing consideration to others, improving the lives of those around me, and doing the right thing even when no one else is looking. Recognising my own self-worth.
  • Independence - Organising and taking responsibility for myself, developing my resilience and having the courage to do the right thing.
  • Respect Showing an understanding of the feelings, wishes and rights of others through words and actions and by valuing equality and diversity within the community.

Part of Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership

The Midsomer Norton Schools' Partnership was founded in 2009 following the hard federation between Norton Hill and Somervale Secondary Schools. Since this point the Trust has grown to include other secondary schools and a large number of primary schools, which are all located in the Southwest of England: Bath and North East Somerset, Somerset and North Somerset. The full list of schools that are members of the Trust are shown above.

Midsomer Norton Schools' Partnership provides support and challenge to all of our schools so that our entire community of children and young people can achieve their best. The unique character of each school is celebrated and nurtured to ensure choice and variety in educational provision. The Trust is committed to providing a broad, balanced and aspirational curriculum in all of its schools, so that all children and young people develop the character and qualifications needed to open doors to their future success. A strong focus on developing and providing inspirational teaching and leadership in all schools, through school-to-school improvement, ensures outstanding progress and educational enjoyment for all members of our partnership’s community.
