To start from 4th November 2024 (or sooner if available), we are looking for an exceptional Head of Chemistry to join this distinctive, high achieving, state-funded day and boarding school for boys in the lower school and large mixed Sixth Form. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, self-motivated teacher who has the drive and leadership skills to inspire an exceptional team of dedicated teachers.

We are looking for a dynamic leader with high expectations and standards who will inspire and motivate students and create a buzz and excitement both within and beyond the confines of the classroom. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to deliver outstanding academic results and exemplary classroom practice through the delivery of a high quality and well sequenced curriculum, a structured assessment system, rigorous diagnosis of individual students’ strengths and weaknesses and the implementation of targeted intervention programmes.

The Science results are incredibly strong and student uptake beyond GCSE and A Level is very good. The successful candidate will be expected to teach all Science disciplines at KS3, their specialist subject and at least one other at KS4 and their specialist subject at KS5.

The School has a vibrant extra-curricular life, which includes sport, music, debating, drama, outdoor activities and public speaking. A willingness to contribute will be a clear advantage.
