To start from 4th November 2024 (or sooner if available), we are looking for an exceptional teacher of Science to join this distinctive, high achieving, state-funded day and boarding school for boys in the lower school and large mixed Sixth Form. This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious, self-motivated teacher who would like to join what is already a strong Science team. This role is equally suitable for an experienced teacher or one new to the profession.
We are looking for a dynamic teacher with high expectations and standards who will inspire and motivate students and create a buzz and excitement both within and beyond the confines of the classroom. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to deliver exemplary classroom practice through the delivery of a high quality and well sequenced curriculum as well as awareness of how the use of assessments as well as effective marking and feedback can support all students to develop a love of science and make exceptional progress.
The Science results are exceptionally strong and student uptake beyond GCSE and A Level is very good. The successful candidate will be expected to teach all Science disciplines at KS3, their specialist subject and at least one other at KS4 and their specialist subject at A-level. The ability to teach Chemistry at A level would be an advantage.
The School has a vibrant extra-curricular life, which includes sport, music, debating, drama, outdoor activities and public speaking. A willingness to contribute will be an advantage.
