An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to join Wreake Valley Academy as Head of Year and Safeguarding Lead. The Head of Year and Safeguarding Lead is responsible for the pastoral care of the pupils in a particular year group and the management and administration of safeguarding within the school, as Deputy Safeguarding Lead. The post holder will also be responsible for proactively supporting all pupils to ensure their social, emotional and behavioural needs are addressed and supported as appropriate.

This role is a rewarding one with a successful candidate having the opportunity to encourage, guide and support student wellbeing and academic achievement to ensure they achieve to the best of their ability.


The ideal candidate will:

• Be educated to degree level or equivalent and have evidence of recent training/relevant experience in child protection and safeguarding

• Have experience of working with multi agencies to enhance child protection and safeguarding procedures.

• Have experience of leading, developing and motivating staff

• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Have the ability to lead and motivate staff in order to in order to secure high levels of safeguarding vigilance across the school.
