An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join The Merton Primary School as a KS2 Classroom Teacher on a part time, fixed term basis working Mondays to Wednesdays in Year 3. The Merton Primary School is a fantastic place to work where we all aim to Make a Difference to the lives of our children across school.

We are looking for an individual to come and join our enthusiastic, talented and dedicated staff team to be part of this vision. You would be joining a strong Year 3 Team who enjoy working in this key year group where the children build upon the strong foundations of their Key Stage 1 learning and start their journey through Key Stage 2 where they deepen their knowledge and spread their learning wings to excel across the curriculum.
We are looking for someone who has the passion and enthusiasm for teaching and learning with the commitment to go the extra mile for all children and ‘Make a Difference’. The successful candidate will be a team player with a flexible mindset and ability to gel with an established Year 3 team; and have the dedication to the achievement of all pupils, including disadvantaged pupils.
The role of Classroom Teacher is a rewarding one with the opportunity for professional autonomy within the role to create the classroom environment that enables development. The school have a commitment to high quality CPD and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead an area of the curriculum linked to their skills and interests. We are heavily focussed on trying to ensure that work life balance for teachers is manageable, this is under regular review.
The ideal candidate will:
• Hold QTS status
• Possess the ability to teach high quality lessons and consistently provide learning opportunities that progresses pupils’ learning and achievements
• Be an excellent communicator and able to build positive working relationships with pupils, parents/carers and stakeholders
• Be a team player – whilst it is important as a Classroom Teacher to work independently, there are regular points of the working day and week where working alongside support staff and other teaching colleagues is vital, therefore working as part of a team that is supportive and effective is paramount to the role
