An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning Support Assistant to join Swallowdale Primary School on a fixed term basis until August 2025. The successful candidate would be required to work Monday – Friday, working 8:30am – 3:30pm each day.

The Learning Support Assistant is responsible for providing support to our pupils and teachers across the school to provide a high-quality provision. We are looking for someone with great initiative; who is a team player and who has a good understanding of or willingness to learn about child development and supporting SEND/SEMH needs. The successful candidate will need to be flexible and understand that the year group or child they are allocated to work with may change due to the needs of the school.

This role is a rewarding one with a successful candidate having the opportunity to work as part of a well established team in a school where inclusion is at the heart. The successful candidate will have ongoing support in their role to learn and develop strategies for supporting children with SEND/SEMH needs.


The ideal candidate will have:

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent

• Experience of supporting teaching and learning in an educational setting

• Experience of supporting SEN in an educational setting is desirable

• Strategies to support children with additional needs and an understanding of the whole child

• Good literacy and numeracy skills
