Fixed Term – until the end of the current academic year – 25th August 2025

Contracted Hrs: 37 per week

Working Wks: Term Time plus Inset Days (39 weeks)

Grade: Grade 9, Pts 19 to 22

Salary: £26,595 to £28,495 per annum

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Outreach Worker to join us at Melton and South Charnwood Inclusion Partnership (MSCIP), located at The Roundhill Academy. The Melton and South Charnwood Inclusion Partnership works with schools in the area to support children and young people who are finding it difficult to thrive and succeed in a mainstream setting. This is an exciting time to join MSCIP as we look to expand our offer to our local schools.

The successful candidate will be based at the Melton and South Charnwood Inclusion Partnership (MSCIP) and will carry out behaviour and social skills interventions with students in local community settings. These students will have been excluded from their schools and so will display a variety of needs including Social, Emotional and Mental Health. Working closely with and under the direction of the MSCIP Partnership Coordinator the Outreach Worker will be responsible for devising and delivering a plan of ongoing targeted support to students who are experiencing behaviour issues which are negatively impacting upon their learning.

This role is a rewarding one with a successful candidate having the opportunity to play a key role in supporting young people and will be a role model of positive attitude and high standards. This is the perfect opportunity for someone with experience in youth work, outreach work and/or mentoring with secondary aged students and is looking to make a real difference to our young people’s lives.

 The ideal candidate will:

• Qualifications relating to youth work or equivalent demonstrable experience.

• Be a team player, with evidence of successfully supporting vulnerable pupils who may present with issues such as Social and Emotional Health, ACEs and Attachment where these are causing barriers to being successful in school.

• Have an understanding of and commitment to best safeguarding practice

• Have the ability to work on their own initiative and to respond flexibly to changing priorities under pressure

• Have excellent communication skills

• Be emotionally and physically resilient to meet the challenges and demands of the role

• Have the ability to travel to local community settings to facilitate sessions with students.
