SEN Learning Support Assistant

Temporary Position - Commencing as soon as possible

Grade 5.7 - Pro-Rata Salary = £12,398 p.a. (Equivalent to £18,426 FTE)


This is a temporary one year position but may be extended as it is linked to pupil funding.

We are looking for a caring, experienced and enthusiastic individual who has a passion for working with young children to join our busy school team.

You will work one to one with specific children to help support them to fully access all aspects of the curriculum. As part of your role you will, under the direction of a teacher and SENCo, support in the learning process and utilise your skills to assist the teacher to create an educational environment in which the pupil's all round development is achieved in accordance.

You will promote development and learning, and will help to ensure full participation.

This role will include attending to the pupils’ personal needs including toileting, hygiene, dressing and eating, as well as help with social, emotional, welfare and health matters reporting problems to teacher as appropriate.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Able to develop an understanding of the educational, welfare and social needs of the child with whom you are supporting.
  • Able to stay calm and objective when presented with unusual or challenging behaviour.
  • Enthusiastic and committed to working as part of a team, including working closely with outside agencies.
  • Able to relate exceptionally well with children and to go that extra mile to help them achieve.

You will be working 30 hours over five days per week

Between 8.30am to 3.30pm, term time only.

This position is defined as temporary as it is funding dependent.
