About Us
Established in 1961 and situated in a leafy residential suburb of Newcastle-under-Lyme, Edenhurst Preparatory School is an independent day school which currently has 180 pupils including a thriving nursery. It aims to challenge, support and celebrate the children’s unique passions and strengths to prepare them for their next step in education. The school has a friendly and stimulating ethos with high expectations of behaviour and personal achievement. With specialist teaching in PE, Music, Drama, Science French, Latin and Spanish, the team at Edenhurst inspires every child from the day they start school to reach their potential and to actively engage in all areas of school life.
As part of the Bellevue Education group, Edenhurst benefits from shared best practice and resources, in addition to focused training programmes covering all aspects of education. The School also receives specialist support from Bellevue in the areas of educational training and professional development, finance, human resources and marketing, enabling the Head to focus on the most important aspects of their work: delivering an exceptional education, which enables every child to reach their full potential. Bellevue is a group that equips its leaders with the freedom and tools required to thrive in today’s demanding environment.
The Role
Bellevue is now seeking to appoint a new Head for Edenhurst Preparatory School from January 2023 (or sooner) to replace Mike Hibbert who is moving to another headship. The next Head will lead the School with vision, inspiration and initiative in creating a climate which enables every member of the school community to flourish.
This is an outstanding opportunity for someone with ambition, imagination and a genuine commitment to delivering an outstanding all-round preparatory education for children. The Head must continue to ensure the very highest educational standards and guide this already excellent school through the next stage of its development.
Edenhurst Preparatory School and Bellevue Education are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
