Overview

Our School Vision

At Bricknell Primary School we will meet the needs of each and every child, promote positive values and aim to make every day enjoyable and rewarding. We will work in partnership with parents, families and our community to provide a calm, safe and nurturing environment where people respect each other and feel happy, secure and valued.

We encourage children to aim high in everything they do. We believe in developing individual talents and celebrating success in all aspects of school life. Our lessons, supported by new technologies and extra-curricular provision, will nurture curiosity, inspire a love of learning, foster independence and equip our children with the skills they need for the future.

By having high expectations and a relevant, creative curriculum, we will bring out the best in everybody.

Bricknell Primary School first opened its doors in 1933 and is situated in a residential area close to the University of Hull. It is the largest primary school in Hull, with around 630 pupils on roll. Pupils living in the catchment area of the school usually transfer to Kelvin Hall High School.

The school converted to academy status in October 2013 as part of an umbrella trust. There is not a sponsor attached to the school; instead the school has formed a partnership as part of a group of 11 local schools called the I.C.A. Schools’ Partnership.

The Constellation Trust

Our Trust includes primary, secondary and an alternative provision school working together to provide the best learning opportunities for the pupils within our network of schools.

Each school serves its own community and has its own unique identity. Together we benefit from working in partnership, share good practice and have a joint central service support team.
