Welcome

At Bricknell Primary School we will meet the needs of each and every child, promote positive values and aim to make every day enjoyable and rewarding. We will work in partnership with parents, families and our community to provide a calm, safe and nurturing environment where people respect each other and feel happy, secure and valued.

We encourage children to aim high in everything they do. We believe in developing individual talents and celebrating success in all aspects of school life. Our lessons, supported by new technologies and extra-curricular provision, will nurture curiosity, inspire a love of learning, foster independence and equip our children with the skills they need for the future.

By having high expectations and a relevant, creative curriculum, we will bring out the best in everybody.

About Us

About Us

Bricknell Primary School first opened its doors in 1933 and is situated in a residential area close to the University of Hull. It is the largest primary school in Hull, with around 681 pupils on roll. Pupils living in the catchment area of the school usually transfer to Kelvin Hall High School.

As a result of the school’s outstanding reputation for supporting high need pupils with ASD, the local authority have invested in providing a city wide resource base at the school which opened in September 2018. The provision provides a 10 place setting which specialises in providing high quality provision tailored for ASD pupils with an EHCP whilst also integrating them into the wider life of the school.

The admission number for each year group is 90. The school has an early admissions policy which takes pupils in the September of the year of their fifth birthday. Applications are dealt with by the Local Authority.
