Welcome to the Brocks Hill Primary School career site

We are searching for the best education professionals

It has been my privilege to be the Head of School at Brocks Hill Primary since September 2020. I feel very fortunate to lead such a dedicated, caring and happy school; our team always go ‘the extra mile’. We are proud to be one of the four primaries in the Lionheart Educational Trust and we all work closely together.

Brocks Hill is an ambitious, research driven and visionary school. Through our creative curriculum we ensure every child receives the highest quality education, both academically and holistically.

Our Trust vision of ‘ANY young person from ANY background deserves an EQUAL chance to be successful in whatever they do’ permeates throughout our school. This vision sits alongside our fundamental 6Rs: Respect, Responsibility, Resourcefulness, Resilience, Reflection and Reciprocity.

We develop self-directed, inquisitive and brave individuals with a life-long love for learning. Our curriculum includes the teaching of key skills and dispositions alongside academic knowledge. To help our children reach their full potential, wellbeing is at the heart of our school and we are proud to include Well-being worker on our team. We believe every child deserves a champion and we offer a wide range of nurture-based provisions and interventions including social, emotional and mental health support for both our children and for the whole school community. We are keen to promote outdoor learning and are always looking for inspirational learning opportunities for our children. Brocks Hill are proud to host the Lionheart Character Award which is offered to our Year 4 pupils and teaches fundamental skills such as teamwork and problem solving.

I am so proud of my school, the children and the team and I would welcome the opportunity to share this with you.

We look forward to your application.

Cathryn Shilling

Head of School, Brocks Hill Primary School

Brocks Hill is a creative and innovative school at the heart of a large residential area in Oadby, south Leicestershire. The school aims to develop self-directed, responsible learners with a life-long love for learning, while being committed to giving all children and families the best opportunities.

Everything we do is to help children get ready for their futures, so all pupils can make excellent progress regardless of their background. To do that, we need them to be flexible learners, who are able to face change and challenge with resilience and courage. We want our children to have fun and be confident, and we value what each child brings to the school. We believe in a culture where everyone can grow, succeed, reflect and celebrate.

The 6Rs – Respect, Responsibility, Resourcefulness, Resilience, Reflection and Reciprocity – permeate all aspects of our school and our ethos is summarised in the Brocks Hill Pledge:

• We are a community of learners who work collaboratively together.

• We are committed to an evolving creative curriculum which teaches skills for life such as resilience, resourcefulness, reflection, responsibility, reciprocity and respect.

• We aim to help children develop into fully rounded, secure, fulfilled adults who are excellent citizens in our global community.

• We strive for equality, have fair and transparent rules, admissions and employment practices.

• We celebrate the diversity of our community, in which all groups have a voice and no single group dominates.

• We are always striving for the best, developing our curriculum and strategic direction based on research, best practice and experience to ensure the best possible outcomes for children.

If you can help us on our journey to inspire and develop good citizens of tomorrow with a lifelong love of learning, we’d love to hear from you.
