Do you have a passion and drive for giving learners the very best opportunities and start in life? Can you work as part of the Senior Leadership Team to build on the community focus of our wonderful school located in the heart of Cardiff?

The governors of Cardiff West Community High School are looking to appoint a dynamic and inspirational Deputy Headteacher who will be committed to collaboration and effective partnership.

This role involves working to build on innovative learning pathways and the delivery of a high quality and effective learning environment, in a school located in an area of high deprivation with complex needs.

We have developed successful and extensive partnerships with business, the creative and cultural sectors, industry, community organisations and education providers, which have enabled our learners, their families and our staff, to access a rich range of development opportunities.

You will have high aspirations for the professional learning of all staff and for the broader engagement of the local community, employers and civic society. We aim to provide appropriate and engaging vocational and academic opportunities to enable all our learners to flourish, working towards the Education Wales goal of ‘Create Your World’. Our three core values are Ambition, Resilience and Trust.

You will bring high energy and focus on the needs of our diverse school by putting it at the very heart of the local community. You will have the vision and tenacity to work with the school staff to drive and further improve the progress learners are making towards becoming the best versions of themselves.

Under the Teacher and Higher Education Act 1998 and the Teachers (Compulsory Registration) Wales Regulations 2000, every qualified teacher, who is employed in a maintained school must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
