Thank you for taking the time to visit the Carew Academy career site. Carew is a truly amazing school with a unique family ethos.
Our most recent Ofsted Report (January 2020) judged Carew to be ‘Outstanding’ in all areas and every single member of our school community deserves praise for what they have contributed to making that happen, our students describe Carew as an AMAZING school.
To help our students thrive we have our ‘ABC of Success’:
Close partnership exists between staff, students and parents to ensure all students make the maximum possible progress from their individual starting points – this means that together there is no limit to what our students can achieve.
Our school is divided into: the Lower School (Years 3 to 7); the Middle School (Years 8 and 9); the Upper School (Years 10 and 11); and the Sixth Form (Years 12 and 13). We offer a curriculum that includes the ‘traditional’ subjects such as Maths, English and Science alongside a broad range of options including Animal Care, Art, Dance, Drama, Music, Photography, Physical Education, The Duke of Edinburgh Award and many more through our Lower School enrichment programme. These options inspire and engage our students to allow them to show their talents – this ensures that we live by our school motto ‘Let’s Show What We Can Do’.
Students are placed on one of three Pathways, Skills for Life, Skills for Work or Skills for Further Education, these are flexible and students can move between pathways to ensure they are provided the most appropriate curriculum and best possible support.
