CPD Teacher Programme

cs210714_0726.jpg

At The Castle School, new teachers follow the Early Career Framework and are supported with a mentor, with additional free time given to undertake their training. We have a coaching programme with peer coaches trained to support colleagues.

We run a varied programme of CPD - some whole school (e.g. safeguarding), some based in the faculty, or in pastoral teams, and some with our Trust colleagues; there is a growing commitment to working with colleagues across the Trust to develop and share best practice in our curriculum planning and teaching.

There is a strong Leadership Group that consists of middle and senior leaders, and we always welcome aspiring leaders to join this group to support their professional development.

For further development we have an Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and aspiring and new middle leaders training across the Trust. We also have colleagues following the new NPQ qualifications and we support this with funding, and with time, as an investment in our colleagues.

Blackdown Education Partnership

The Blackdown Education Partnership is a multi-academy trust (MAT) working across Devon and Somerset. It was born of a merger between two established MATs: The Castle Partnership Trust and Uffculme Academy Trust and currently looks after a family of 10 schools: 5 primary and 5 secondary and 3 nurseries.

Blackdown Education Partnership is, therefore, a single organisation established to deliver the education and to safeguard the wellbeing of every child in our Trust. The Trust seeks to ensure that high quality collaboration and system leadership continue to improve the education in our schools. We are responsible for the good governance of the schools within our Trust and are accountable for the performance of each school. We work with an exceptional team of leaders, teachers and support staff whose combined efforts deliver on our promise to believe in every child.
