At The Castle School, we value strong positive relationships and this makes the school such a vibrant and lively place to work. I would encourage you to visit the school so you can see the school in action and meet our wonderful students. This will give you the opportunity to imagine your child here and see that this is the right school for you and your family.
The history and tradition of The Castle School is what makes it such a privilege to be part of this family. Our aim continues to be for every child to achieve, belong and participate and this is at the heart of everything we do at The Castle School. Rated as Outstanding by Ofsted, we have been for some years now not only at the top of the performance table in Somerset but in the top 5% of schools nationally for academic achievements.
We believe that education should empower young people, giving them the knowledge to make sense of the world and grow into citizens who make a difference. This must be supported by a curriculum that gives students the power to think for themselves, shaped by what they need to know, understand and fulfil, in order to have happy, successful and prosperous lives.
OUR AIMS AND VALUES
Every Child Achieves. Every Child Belongs. Every Child Participates.
Our aims are simple. We want every child at The Castle School to achieve their true potential, participate fully, and enjoy a strong sense of belonging. We achieve this by delivering high quality teaching and learning through a broad and balanced curriculum, and a safe and structured environment where all students can thrive, and with a ‘can do’ attitude that means every child can and will take part in enrichment. We also encourage personal development and improvement by promoting values that celebrate:
These are values that enable students to leave school able and motivated to make the best possible contribution to society.
The Blackdown Education Partnership is a multi-academy trust (MAT) working across Devon and Somerset. It was born of a merger between two established MATs: The Castle Partnership Trust and Uffculme Academy Trust and currently looks after a family of 10 schools: 5 primary and 5 secondary and 3 nurseries.
Blackdown Education Partnership is, therefore, a single organisation established to deliver the education and to safeguard the wellbeing of every child in our Trust. The Trust seeks to ensure that high quality collaboration and system leadership continue to improve the education in our schools. We are responsible for the good governance of the schools within our Trust and are accountable for the performance of each school. We work with an exceptional team of leaders, teachers and support staff whose combined efforts deliver on our promise to believe in every child.
