Welcome

A message from the Headteacher

Thank you for taking the time to find out more information about our school set in the heart of a new and growing community. We opened in September 2019 to Reception and Year One pupils as a two-form entry primary school, growing by a year group annually until Year 6 when we will cater for 420 pupils.

At Charlton Wood Primary Academy, we understand that every child is unique and bursting with limitless potential to achieve anything they believe is possible from becoming a future Prime Minister, a gold medal winning Olympian or a world renowned heart surgeon.

Our job in school is to work relentlessly and creatively in partnership with you to equip and educate your child with the knowledge, skills and understanding for endless opportunities in learning and life. In order to achieve this, our rich and exciting curriculum is punctuated by a commitment to academic success and is complemented by creative and sporting excellence to enable our pupils to develop and grow into confident and ambitious life-long learners.

Our Vision and Values

Our vision

Working together to grow confident, ambitious learners

At Charlton Wood Primary Academy we are extremely ambitious for our children and work relentlessly with our families to ensure that every child can achieve the very highest outcomes regardless of their starting point. In order to achieve this we work creatively to inspire our learners to make the most of every learning opportunity throughout the day.

Our Values

The school has four values (as pictured) which we expect everyone in our school community to uphold all of the time: Respect, Understanding, Perseverance and Pride. These values are part of the fabric of our school and help our children to grow and develop into confident ambitious learners who make the most of the opportunities given to them. Our school values help us to deliver our vision and are woven throughout every aspect of school life. They are the building blocks of our universal offer to all pupils and the language should be deliberately used to support children to understand the expectations around how we interact with one another.
