Clare House School Porthcawl is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and reflective Reception Teacher to join our founding team. This is an opportunity to help create a new school community from the very beginning, supporting children at a pivotal stage in their educational journey as they transition from Early Years into the foundations of Prep School learning within an environment where every child is celebrated, known and encouraged to thrive.

Role overview
- Deliver engaging learning experiences across the Early Years Foundation Stage through experiential and transdisciplinary project-based approaches
- Support children in transitioning from play-based Early Years provision into more structured learning with care and continuity
- Create an environment that balances curiosity, independence and purposeful learning
- Support children’s academic, social and emotional development through strong relationships and meaningful experiences
- Adapt teaching to meet the needs of individual learners and support progress over time
- Contribute to curriculum development and the wider life of the school community
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and the wider school community
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and child development
- Commitment to creating inclusive, relational and child-centred learning environments
- Ability to use an holistic assessment strategy of summative, formative and reflective approaches to effectively support pupil progress
- Confidence working collaboratively as part of a growing and values-led team
- Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and commitment to pupil wellbeing
