Clare House School Porthcawl is seeking to appoint a caring and nurturing Teaching and Learning Support practitioner to join our founding team. This is an opportunity to help create a new school community from the very beginning, supporting children across Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 within an environment where every child is celebrated, known and encouraged to thrive.

Role overview
- Support children’s learning and development across the whole school through experiential, project-based and child-centred approaches
- Work with individuals and small groups, adapting support to meet a range of learning needs and developmental stages
- Extend children’s learning through purposeful interaction, questioning, modelling and dialogue
- Support children’s social, emotional and personal development through strong relationships and consistent support
- Contribute to purposeful indoor and outdoor learning environments that encourage engagement and independence
- Observe learning and contribute to discussions around pupil progress and next steps
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and the wider school community
Requirements
- Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) qualification
- Strong understanding of how children learn and develop across the primary phase
- Commitment to creating inclusive, relational and child-centred learning environments
- Ability to support learning through observation, interaction and reflective practice
- Confidence adapting support across different phases and age groups
- Confidence working collaboratively as part of a growing and values-led team
- Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and commitment to pupil wellbeing
