Clare House School Porthcawl is seeking to appoint a proactive and organised Estate and Facilities Lead to join our founding team. This is an opportunity to lead the development, maintenance and daily operation of a new school environment from the very beginning, helping create a campus where pupils feel safe, cared for and ready to learn within an environment where every child is celebrated, known and encouraged to thrive.

Role overview
- Lead the day-to-day management, maintenance and security of the school site and grounds
- Ensure the campus remains clean, safe, welcoming and aligned to the school’s standards and vision
- Take a hands-on role in site maintenance, repairs, grounds upkeep and operational problem-solving
- Lead and support the facilities and cleaning team, ensuring high standards across the school environment
- Oversee health and safety, compliance, statutory checks and emergency procedures across the site
- Support community use of the campus, including lettings and external partnerships
- Contribute to the long-term development and sustainability of the school environment
Requirements
- Relevant experience in estates, facilities or site management
- Health and Safety qualification such as NEBOSH or equivalent
- Strong understanding of health and safety legislation, compliance and site operations
- Experience managing contractors, procurement, maintenance or operational budgets
- Ability to manage operational priorities effectively
- A proactive, organised and solution-focused approach to work
- Relevant trade experience, such as electrical, plumbing or carpentry work, would be highly desirable
- Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and commitment to pupil wellbeing
