Clare House School Porthcawl is seeking to appoint a reliable and conscientious Facilities Assistant to join our founding team. This is an opportunity to contribute to the daily environment in which pupils learn, grow and thrive, helping create a school that feels safe, welcoming and well cared for within an environment where every child is celebrated, known and encouraged to thrive.

Role overview

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness across classrooms, shared spaces and wider school facilities
  • Support the creation of a safe, organised and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and families
  • Carry out cleaning duties including vacuuming, mopping, waste management and replenishing consumables
  • Support the safe use and storage of cleaning materials and equipment
  • Report maintenance concerns, hazards or equipment issues promptly
  • Work flexibly across different areas of the school as required
  • Contribute positively to the wider life and daily operation of the school community

Requirements

  • Experience working within a cleaning or facilities role
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements, including COSHH awareness
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A reliable, organised and methodical approach to work
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
  • Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and commitment to pupil wellbeing
