Clare House School Porthcawl is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Lower Key Stage 2 Teacher to join our founding team. This is an opportunity to help create a new school community from the very beginning, creating meaningful learning experiences within a multi-age Year 3 and Year 4 environment where every child is celebrated, known and encouraged to thrive.

Role overview

  • Teach within a multi-age Lower Key Stage 2 class across Year 3 and Year 4
  • Deliver engaging learning experiences through experiential and transdisciplinary project-based approaches
  • Support children’s academic, social and emotional development through strong relationships and purposeful teaching
  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of individual learners and support progress over time
  • Encourage curiosity, independence and reflective learning as children develop greater confidence and responsibility
  • Contribute to curriculum development and the wider life of the school community
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and the wider school community

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Strong understanding of the Lower Key Stage 2 curriculum and child development
  • Commitment to creating inclusive, relational and child-centred learning environments
  • Ability to use an holistic assessment strategy of summative, formative and reflective approaches to effectively support pupil progress
  • Confidence working collaboratively as part of a growing and values-led team
  • Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and commitment to pupil wellbeing
