Darlington College in County Durham provides Further Education, Higher Education, Apprenticeships and Tailored Training Solutions. Darlington College serves the communities of South West Durham, Darlington and North Yorkshire. The College has two main campus’ both providing high quality purpose built state of the art learning environments. Darlington College offers a vast range of vocational courses so that our students can tailor their studies to the career profile they want. The majority of our tutors are former industry professionals.
We offer a whole range of qualifications from entry level, including essential skills in literacy and numeracy, right through to degree level studies and professional management awards. The College recently achieved the 'North East Better Health at Work' Continuing Excellance award in recognition of efforts to promote a healthy workplace.

Our pay rates are excellent for the further education sector, with a fair pay scale standardised across the college. Pay increments are linked to satisfactory performance via our appraisal system. Depending on your role, our pension scheme can accommodate either a teacher’s or local government pension.
Business Support Staff
With regards to holidays, staff are entitled to 30 days of annual leave per year (pro rata), which increases to 35 days and 10 bank holidays and in addition the Corporation Board can grant approval for up to 5 efficiency days for the college to close at times such as Christmas.
Curriculum Staff
Tutors are entitled to 42 days of annual leave per year (pro rata) and other academic staff have 35 days annual leave per year (pro rata). Both support and curriculum staff get bank holidays off and when the college is shut over Christmas for efficiency shut-down.
