Role based at Teesside University Site, Haughton Road, Darlington

1. Purpose of Job

To work as part of the commercial catering division, Academy Catering, providing Food service/Preparation and support services to customers throughout the College facilities. To contribute to the success of Academy Catering by assisting to provide services this will satisfy customers and generate a net surplus.

2. Principle Accountabilities

a) Responsible for the day-to-day organisation and operation of the Food service area, including food production, ordering, deliveries, storage and security in line with College requirements and procedures.

b) Security and control of stock, including maintenance of stock levels and security of stock.

c) Supervision of staff when working in the Food service areas,

d) Day to day operation of the food service and production area, including serving customers, taking cash, dealing with complaints and making operational decisions in line with the food services requirements.

e) Liaison with Catering Services Manager in supervising the day-to-day requirements, in line with the food service operation.

f) To meet deadlines and targets as required by the food service area.

g) To maintain and conform to standards of hygiene and safety in accordance with current legislation.

h) To ensure that the highest standards of customer/supplier relations are maintained and that “customer” needs are met during agreed specified times.

i) To attend team meetings as required.

j) To comply with all relevant policies and procedures.

k) To attend training courses as required and any other related duty as required.
