Mulberry Park Educate Together Primary Academy is a vibrant, bubbly and welcoming one form entry primary school in the heart of the Mulberry Park community in Combe Down. Since opening in 2018, we have grown into a nurturing, inclusive school where relationships, connection and compassion sit at the heart of everything we do.
The School’s Local Governing Body is looking to appoint a clerk to support them in their work.
This post can easily fit in with other commitments. Hours are worked primarily during term time. Apart from attendance at meetings, the role can be carried out from home, at times of the day to suit the post-holder (within agreed deadlines). The post could easily be combined with other posts, including clerking roles in other schools.
The post is a part-time position, for 90 hours per year covering 6 Governing Body meetings per academic year. Local Governing Body meetings will be held on weekday evenings at the school. The salary starts at NJC SCP13 which is £15.06 per hour plus a holiday pay allowance.
The clerk to the governors is central to the smooth running of the governing body: preparing agendas, taking and distributing minutes, offering administrative support, keeping records and giving procedural and legislative advice to the governing body. Clerks must have excellent organisation, communication and ICT skills, as well as an ability to take accurate minutes at meetings. To help the successful applicant fulfil their role we expect them to attend all relevant training events and Clerk’s Network meetings. We can also offer coaching in the role.
Closing Date: 24th April at 9am.
Interviews will take place shortly afterwards.
