Mulberry Park Educate Together Primary Academy is a single entry primary school that opened its doors to children for the first time in September 2018. We are situated on the new Mulberry Park housing development in Combe Down.

We are seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants to join our  school with a strong sense of community. Our school is a place where every child is valued, and where we work hard to create a nurturing environment that supports their learning and well-being.

Our school takes a relational approach, valuing connection, understanding, and trust over punitive or behaviourist methods. We believe that every child deserves compassion, patience, and support to thrive both academically and emotionally.

Our school currently has higher than the National average levels of SEND needs and many children impacted by trauma or presenting with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, we are looking for someone who embodies compassion, resilience, and adaptability.

You may be a good fit for our school if you:

*  understand the importance of a relational approach and are committed to fostering trust, connection, and understanding in their interactions with children.

* can support children with SEMH challenges, using strategies that promote emotional regulation, confidence, and engagement.

* have the skills to manage and respond to unexpected behaviours with a calm, flexible, and solutions-focused approach.

* understand this Is physically demanding and active role, which may include using de-escalation techniques

* demonstrate calmness, flexibility, and resilience in challenging situations.

We are currently seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants who possess the following attributes:

• A strong understanding of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and how these can present in children.

• A calm, flexible, and resilient approach to supporting learners.

• An understanding that this role will involve regularly dealing with unexpected behaviours and supporting children through these challenges.

• Experience and ability to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) on a 1:1 basis or within small group settings.

• A comprehension of the impact of trauma on children and its implications in a learning environment.

• Skills to build positive and nurturing relationships with children to foster their development and well-being.

• Initiative, alongside the ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.

• Proven experience in managing children with SEND, demonstrating effective strategies to support their learning journeys.

We have full and part time vacancies

Full time hours are 8.30am  to 3.30pm ( until 4.30pm on Wednesdays). 

Part time hours are 8.30am to 1pm. 

The salary starts at SCP 05 which is currently £24,790 pro rata.

The actual salary for these hours is £19,628 full time and £13,183 part time.
