Deputy SENCO & Class Teacher – SEMH Resourced Provision

Opening September 2026

A Unique Opportunity to Shape Inclusive Education from the Ground Up

Are you an experienced teacher with a passion for supporting children with social, emotional and mental health needs? Do you want to lead the development of a brand-new resourced provision whilst supporting SEND across a growing primary school?

Stanhope Primary School opened its doors to 2 reception classes in September 2025. In September 2026, we will have Year R and Year 1, and will open a specialist SEMH resourced provision to run alongside our mainstream classes. We are seeking an exceptional Deputy SENCO & Class Teacher to join our expanding team in this dual role:

· Leading our SEMH resourced provision as class teacher, creating a nurturing, therapeutic environment for our most vulnerable pupils

· Supporting whole-school SEND strategy as Deputy SENCO, working alongside our SENCO to ensure all pupils with SEND thrive

Our culture and vision document and the job description, which supplements this advert, will give you a clear insight into how the resourced provision will operate and what we are looking for.

What we offer:

For the Resourced Provision:

· The opportunity to design and lead a purpose-built SEMH provision from day one

· Freedom to develop a bespoke, trauma-informed curriculum tailored to pupils' individual needs

· A brand-new learning environment specifically designed to support children with SEMH needs

· Small class sizes enabling intensive, personalised support

· Dedicated resources and staffing to create a therapeutic, nurturing space

For Your Professional Development:

· A unique opportunity to be part of a new school, shaping its SEND culture and provision

· The chance to develop expertise in both specialist provision leadership and whole-school SEND coordination

· A values-led, aspirational school with a strong belief in the development of the whole child

· A dynamic and exciting working environment where you can grow professionally

· A supportive network of colleagues from the academy trust, The Cambridge Primary School and local primary schools

· Access to specialist SEND training and development opportunities

We would love to show you around our school and discuss this exciting opportunity in more detail.
