Are you passionate about science and keen to support the next generation of scientists? We are seeking a motivated
and organised Science Technician to join our dynamic science faculty at Heathside Walton-on-Thames,
an Ofsted-rated Outstanding secondary school.
You will support teaching and learning by:
• preparing and providing chemicals, equipment and materials for lessons,
• servicing laboratories, including cleaning of equipment between lessons
• providing timely support to all teaching staff in the Science department
• monitoring stock and supplies and undertaking administration tasks
• helping ensure health and safety in the Science department
The role includes working alongside teachers to support learning in practical lessons and demonstrations.
Candidates should:
• have experience working in a Scientific/Laboratory environment, know how to prepare and maintain supplies and equipment and
possess a working knowledge of health and safety requirements.
• be able to communicate effectively with young people to support learning and development
• possess sound IT and admin skills ideally including experience in a Microsoft 365 environment
