Due to the internal promotion of our current Finance Manager, we are looking for an experienced finance professional to join our growing Trust to support us on our mission to help drive and shape the future of Special Educational needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Alternative Provision (AP) across local, regional and national systems.

This is a full-time, all year round role but the working pattern is open to negotiation.

 The role will be based at our offices in Alveston and there are options for hybrid and home working. There is a requirement for monthly visits to our schools in Downend, Thornbury and Yate so a drivers license and own car are essential.

In this role, you will be managing the Finance Assistants, and providing financial support to Headteachers and budget holders.

Your key duties will include:

- Financial management in accordance with our Finance Policy and Scheme of Delegation, including approval of requisitions, orders and invoices

- Preparation of weekly BACS runs

- Month end procedures, e.g. VAT126 claims, accruals, recharge journals and recodes, review of Aged Debtors and Creditors, and control account reconciliations

- Assisting with preparation of monthly management accounts, monthly budget reports and Year End audit

- Assisting with budget setting process

- Assisting with monthly payroll checks and journals

- Ensuring accurate financial records are maintained

The Finance Team is part of our wider Central Services which includes HR, Estates, Operations and Health & Safety. Your role will include contact with school colleagues, Central Services colleagues, Local Authority partners, suppliers and customers.

It’s important to us that you have the following qualifications and experience:

- Financial qualifications (minimum AAT or NVQ Level 4 in finance/business/administration)

- Experience of working in a senior or similar finance role

 - Experience of financial management

- Experience of managing people
