Job Location: The De Montfort School (TDMS)

Salary: Scale 4 (7-11) £26,403-£28,142 actual salary from £22708 pa

About the role:

We are looking for a passionate and committed Literacy Intervention Lead to join our team. This role is central to supporting students in achieving their potential by developing their reading confidence, closing attainment gaps, and fostering a lifelong love of reading.

The Literacy Intervention Lead will have responsibility for:

 Supporting learners in achieving their potential by ensuring they can read well and confidently.

 Develop innovative intervention strategies to help close the gap for identified underachieving students.

 Building positive relationships with learners to enhance confidence and fulfil their potential.

 Delivering literacy programmes one-to-one or in small groups outside timetabled lessons.

 Leading and managing the whole school library

 Facilitating homework club in the library

Our successful candidate will have the following experience, skillset and qualifications:

 A genuine passion for literacy and reading.

 Can inspire and motivate young people.

 Is organised, creative, and proactive.

 Enjoys working collaboratively with staff and students.

 Demonstrates commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.

The post is permanent for 37 hours per week, term time only plus the school training days. This role reports to our whole school literacy co-ordinator.
