About the role:

We require an inspirational and highly motivated classroom teacher to join our committed and friendly team. This position is full-time.

The role requires the successful candidate to demonstrate:

• Secure curriculum knowledge and the ability to deliver and adapt a coherent, ambitious curriculum that builds knowledge and skills progressively over time.

• High quality classroom practice, including effective modelling, clear explanations, strong subject vocabulary and skilful questioning that supports deep learning for all pupils.

• Effective use of assessment, both formative and summative, to identify gaps, inform teaching, provide timely feedback and ensure pupils make strong progress.

• High expectations for behaviour and attitudes, creating a calm, purposeful learning environment where pupils are motivated, respectful and engaged in their learning.

• Inclusive teaching practices, ensuring all pupils — including those with SEND and disadvantaged backgrounds — are supported to succeed and access the full curriculum.

• A strong commitment to pupil personal development, promoting character, resilience, independence, wellbeing and positive values through both classroom practice and wider school life.

• Positive relationships with pupils, built on consistency, fairness and care, ensuring pupils feel safe, valued and ready to learn.

• Effective collaboration with colleagues, contributing to a strong team ethos, professional dialogue and shared responsibility for school improvement.

• A reflective and research informed approach, showing willingness to engage in professional development and continually refine practice in line with evidence and school priorities.

• A clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities, embedding a culture of vigilance and acting consistently to keep all pupils safe.

This role reports to the Headteacher.

About us:

Our school is located in the small South Shropshire town of Cleobury Mortimer. As a school, we are fully committed to ‘growing people’ and this applies to both pupils and staff. As part of our drive for excellence, we are the Lead Institution for the SHaW Maths hub. As part of this, Teaching for Mastery is deeply embedded into our practice and we often host and lead maths PD events for teachers from across the SHaW region.

We currently have 244 children organised into 9 classes including a nursery and a SEND Hub. We are proud of the welcoming and friendly atmosphere of the school, where children work co-operatively to achieve the very best they possibly can in all areas of the curriculum.

We are part of Four Stones Gateway Trust, a family of like-minded schools, who work collaboratively to provide mutual support, share best practice, and learning from one another to achieve the core purpose: to provide excellence and opportunity for all.

Our work is underpinned by our core values of: Ambition, Commitment, Creativity, and Integrity and a relentless focus on achieving our Trust Dividend to ensure opportunity and success for all.
