Head Teacher at Foxton Primary School

This permanent position will commence at the start of the Autumn term 2026

Leadership Pay Scale L09 – L15

The Local Governing Body and Symphony Learning Trust have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Headteacher at Foxton Primary School due to the previous Headteacher moving to another Headship.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Local Governing Body, CEO, Symphony Central Team staff and other key staff to ensure Foxton continues to provide the very best education for their pupils and to be the strong community-based school it prides itself on.

Situated on the edge of Market Harborough, Foxton is a small rural primary school surrounded by beautiful countryside. The Foxton motto: ‘Rise to the Challenge’ - is palpable in our mission to empower every child to leave school with the knowledge, skills and compassion to make a positive difference to society.

Foxton Primary is a happy, caring, and ambitious school. Our pupils are curious, enthusiastic, and full of energy, and our dedicated team work hard to create an environment where learning is exciting, and every child feels supported and inspired.

Foxton is proud to be in Symphony Learning Trust, one of the leading MATs in the Midlands. Being part of Symphony Learning Trust, which values the true individual identity of each school, provides the support, collaboration and encouragement for Headteachers and their schools to be able to thrive in.

Candidates are encouraged to apply indicating their leadership strengths. We are seeking an outstanding candidate with strong leadership attributes and the ability to inspire both pupils and colleagues.

If not already held, the successful candidate will be required to complete the NPQH qualification.

We are looking for a Headteacher who is:

  • An outstanding practitioner with a proven track record of promoting children's learning and maximising progress;
  • A highly approachable character with strong commitment and excellent interpersonal skills to ensure effective support for all staff and members of our school community;
  • A leader with a clear and methodical approach to whole school assessment procedures including the ability to analyse data and use this analysis to close the gap in achievement between groups;
  • A hard-working individual, willing to be creative and see tasks through; able to cope with the fast pace of change that is required in a school;
  • Highly emotionally intelligent; able to understand the needs of staff in the school and to support them in times of need.

What we can offer you:

  • Excellent opportunities to innovate and shape the future of the school curriculum and assessment procedures in line with our partnership work with other schools in our Trust
  • An environment where teaching and learning are at the heart of all we do
  • Opportunities for continued professional development within the Trust, alongside colleagues from other schools in our Trust and with other recognised providers.
  • The opportunity to develop skills and embrace the needs, wishes and aspirations of everyone in the school community, especially their staff.

To discuss the role in more detail, or to arrange a visit please contact our Chair of Governors Katherine Carr.
