Freemantles School is a Specialist school based in Mayford Green, Woking, providing education provision for autistic children and young people or children with complex social communication needs aged 4 to 19 years.

In addition to our existing offices in the Primary School and the Secondary/FE buildings at Mayford, we have opened a temporary satellite site at the former Ripley CoE Infants School building. We are therefore looking for a highly motivated and organised individual to join our admin team in order to provide effective reception and admin support at the Ripley site on a Tuesday and Wednesday.

Would you like to be part of a friendly and professional administrative team contributing to the efficient running of our amazing school? You will be the welcoming face of Freemantles and will provide a positive first impression to all visitors, students and staff members. You will need to be adaptable and confident with good spoken and written communication skills, an excellent telephone manner and the ability to stay calm under pressure. You will use a variety of IT packages to perform a range of administrative tasks. Prior experience of working as a receptionist or in a school office environment would be advantageous, as well as use of a management information system such as SIMS.net. Full training will be given to the successful candidate; the training is likely to be delivered at our Mayford site initially.

What are we looking for in a Receptionist?

• A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and cope with competing priorities in an office environment.

• Ability to remain calm and focused in pressured situations.

• An individual who is organised and detail orientated, taking pride in their work and working environment

• Confident using IT applications to perform basic administrative functions including Microsoft Office packages e.g. Word and Outlook

• Willingness to learn and develop.

What can we offer you?

• A rewarding public facing role, with plenty of variety, working within a friendly, motivated and professional team.

• Supportive line management with ongoing opportunities for professional development.

• As a Surrey County Council employee, you will be able to access a generous pension scheme, Surrey employee benefits which includes a shopping discount and offer programme, paid sickness leave, built in holiday pay entitlement.

• Free car parking

• An inclusive workplace which promotes professional well-being and resilience. All staff at Freemantles have access to an Employee Assistance Programme. We also run well-being and social activities throughout the year.

We are seeking to fill the working hours of 8.30am to 4pm, Tuesday and Wednesday, term time only. The position is graded at Surrey PS3 with a full-time equivalent salary of £21,269. The pro rata salary for 14 hours per week, term time only, is £7,116 per annum. Please note that the 2024/2025 Surrey pay award discussions are currently underway, and any pay award negotiated will be effective from 1st April 2024 - the salary amounts stated here do not yet include the pay award.

A good level of English and Maths is required.

An Enhanced DBS check will be essential. Please note that we will be undertaking online searches on shortlisted candidates, in accordance with Keeping Children Safe in Education.
