We are seeking to appoint an ambitious, compassionate and experienced leader to join our Senior Leadership Team as Assistant Headteacher with SENDCo responsibilities, alongside a teaching commitment in Upper Key Stage 2.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled practitioner who is passionate about inclusive education, has a strong understanding of SEND, and is ready to influence whole school practice while remaining rooted in the classroom.
The successful candidate will:
• Be a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to the strategic leadership and development of the school
• Lead and manage SEND provision across the school, ensuring high quality inclusive practice and adherence to the SEND Code of Practice
• Act as the school’s designated SENDCo (holding, or willing to work towards, the NASENCo qualification)
• Champion progress, well-being and high aspirations for pupils with SEND
• Work collaboratively with staff, parents and external agencies to meet the needs of all learners
• Teach an Upper Key Stage 2 class, modelling excellent classroom practice and high expectations
• Use assessment and data effectively to inform provision, raise attainment and close gaps
• Support staff development through coaching, guidance and professional dialogue
The ideal candidate will:
• Be an excellent classroom practitioner with successful experience in Upper Key Stage 2
• Have proven experience in leading or contributing to SEND provision
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting professional relationships
• Share and actively promote our Christian values and commitment to compassion, inclusion and service
• Be reflective, resilient and motivated to lead positive change
• Have the vision and drive to ensure every child achieves their full potential
