An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning Support Assistant & Midday Supervisor to join Gaddesby Primary School for 31.25 hours a week. We are seeking candidates who can support our children with confidence and care, looking for them to fulfil their potential.

During the 2025-2026 academic year the successful candidate will be required to act up as Cover Supervisor for 2 hours per week to provide PPA cover; this will be on a fixed term basis until 23rd August 2026, paid at the Cover Supervisor rate of Grade 7. From 24th August 2026 it is expected the successful candidate will return to their substantive contracted hours (26.25 per week) as Learning Support Assistant. Further details in relation to acting up can be discussed at interview stage.

The role of the LSA within the school is important and rewarding, it provides vital support to those that need it and the opportunity to access learning as part of the usual school day. We are looking to appoint a well-motivated and enthusiastic individual who can work with groups as well as supporting children 1:1 and is committed to providing high quality provision for our pupils. As an LSA you will work alongside the teachers in the classroom and the wider school, creating a positive environment for children to flourish.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Level 2 certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent (desirable)

• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably within a primary school. However, other experience will be considered.

• Strong communication skills

• Patience and empathy to support children with diverse needs

• Work well as a team, be able to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff and parents

• Good literacy and numeracy skills
