GLF Teacher Training is a partnership of early years, primary and secondary phases united in delivering effective teacher training across Southeast England: Surrey, Croydon, Oxfordshire, Reading, West Sussex, Wokingham, and Hampshire. Through our collaboration with our 43 GLF schools and our wider partnership schools, we offer high-quality, school-based teacher training, with excellent pastoral support and a commitment to supporting our trainees into their first teaching post within our network of schools. Our trainee satisfaction, retention, and employment rates speak for themselves.

As a lead provider of Initial Teacher Training within a larger network called Inspiring Future Teachers, we proudly offer an array of routes into teaching, including employment-based salaried, postgraduate teacher apprenticeships, assessment-only, and fee-funded routes with a full-time or flexible route option. We can help you find the right route.

Some training routes for experienced colleagues who have taught in a classroom for over a year offer a salary, and some subjects may also include a DfE training bursary to support the cost of training. We are also committed to supporting those looking for undergraduate options to progress into a teaching career.

As a school-centred initial teacher training programme (SCITT), you will learn alongside experienced, practising teachers, expert and supportive mentors and educational leaders, all of whom are committed to ensuring you GROW, LEARN AND FLOURISH.

When you train with GLF, you become part of a family of schools committed to your development, reflecting our commitment to growing our own teaching workforce and supporting long-term employment and career development.

We recognise that Diversity and Inclusion need to be at the heart of what we do and embedded in our culture, values, curriculum, pedagogy and practice. GLF Teacher Training is proud of the diversity of our trainee teachers, ensuring a diverse workforce that will support our GLF pupils and partner schools. We are committed to making GLF Teacher Training a place where everyone belongs. Our diversity and well-being champions, current and past trainees, are always on hand for peer support and advice.

We are proud of our strong, integrated curriculum, allowing trainees to learn theory alongside testing this out in the classroom. Ofsted rated our ITT Programme ‘Strong’ in all areas in 2026, noting that trainees are exceptionally well prepared for classroom realities through a carefully designed, research-led programme. "Supported by well-trained mentors and expert teacher educators, trainees thrive as a result of the training they receive." (Ofsted Report, 2026)

As one of only 87 Teaching School Hubs nationally, GLF brings expertise and experience in teacher development and a commitment to helping every trainee reach their potential.

We are most proud of our trainee alumni, who wow us with their progress and care for their students. It makes all the hard work worth it.
