Administration & Organisation Assistant Level 3
Required for a September 1st 2026 start
Fixed term contract of 2 years to cover a secondment
Gowerton School is looking to appoint a highly organised, efficient and approachable Administration & Organisation Assistant to join our administration team and work in our busy school office. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator to play an important role in supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the school, with a particular focus on pupil records and the school’s management information system (Bromcom).
The successful candidate will take responsibility for key areas of pupil record administration, including processing new starters and leavers, maintaining accurate records, issuing timetables, monitoring Free School Meal data, and producing reports and information as required.
The role also includes providing wider administrative and organisational support across the school, undertaking word processing and more complex IT-based tasks, and assisting in the reprographics office during busy periods. In addition, the postholder will provide reception cover when needed, including dealing with visitors and answering the main switchboard in the absence of the receptionist.
We are looking for someone who:
- has strong administrative and organisational skills;
- is confident managing both manual and computerised information systems;
- can analyse data and produce accurate reports;
- communicates professionally and helpfully with pupils, parents, staff and visitors;
- works well as part of a team while also managing their own areas of responsibility;
- is able to contribute positively to the wider ethos, aims and day-to-day life of the school.
This is an opportunity to join a committed school team and make a direct contribution to the effective running of a busy secondary school. The role would suit a skilled administrator who enjoys working in a varied environment, supporting both staff and pupils, and ensuring that key school systems run smoothly and efficiently.
The successful candidate will be expected to support and uphold school procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, confidentiality, data protection and equality, and to build positive working relationships with colleagues and external agencies where appropriate.
This is a temporary fixed-term post for 2 years in the first instance, to cover a secondment.
The post is for 30 hours per week (school hours), Monday to Friday, term time only.
Closing date for applications is 4pm on Sunday 28th June 2026. Interviews will be held later the same week.
