We are a small, friendly school and our seven year groups (Foundation to Year 6) are split between five classes. We have high aspirations and expectations for all our pupils and every child's progress is monitored carefully throughout their time with us.  This enables us not only to provide relevant intervention, challenge and support where necessary, but also helps, with consultation with parents and carers, to ensure that every child is placed in the most appropriate class to meet their educational needs.

At Great Dalby our philosophy,ethos and values are centred around the child and to us every child does really matter.  Our team of experienced teachers and teaching assistants provide a caring environment in which a range of challenging, inspiring and exciting learning opportunities are provided. We recognise every child as an individual and we strive to meet the learning needs of every child to enable each and every one to reach his or her full potential.  We work hard to create a positive atmosphere within our school and we foster an attitude in which success and achievement are celebrated.  We want to encourage a 'can do' approach and attitude; we want our children to have the confidence to have a go and try.  Children's self-esteem matters and we want our children to leave at the end of Year 6 as confident students with enquiring minds and a love of learning.

We are part of the Bradgate Education Partnership

It was formed in collaboration with 11 local schools in Leicestershire who applied for MAT status to the Secretary of State for Education as a Multi Academy Trust in September 2016. The Trust currently has 15 schools in total, including two secondary schools.

They are committed to developing the local educational landscape within our primary and secondary schools through our unique autonomous model. They firmly believe that through collaboration and supportive challenge we can continue to support and develop further our academy Head Teachers and our Local Governing Bodies (LGB) to manage their own academies through our unique model. 

They are also registered as an academy sponsor for other schools or academies who may approach them and they aim to help them to improve their standards and performance through our supportive model of leadership and school improvement. They fully expect all schools and academies to give their expertise as well as take support from the Trust, as and when required.
