Great Oldbury Primary Academy is a truly exciting place to learn. No one day is ever the same and there is always something new to discover. Our beautiful Gloucestershire Learning Alliance (GLA) Multi-Academy Trust school and nursery sits in the heart of the Great Oldbury community and opened in September 2021 to Reception, Nursery and Pre school. 

Together, we ensure the very best for our children, enabling them to develop the knowledge, skills and character to not just excel academically but to prepare them for the wider world and enable them to flourish and achieve their full potential.

Our school is ambitious for all. We inspire our whole school community to dream big and have the courage to make their dreams a reality! We support our children to think for themselves, actively solve problems, be creative and imaginative and embrace new challenges. Our children build resilience through their experiences, to learn, grow and improve. Our children will be responsible and thoughtful citizens who always treat others with respect and understanding.

We will provide our children with the knowledge and belief to empower their own learning. They will communicate effectively with each other and will be literate, numerate and proficient in computer skills to strive towards their ambitions and become lifelong, independent learners. We grow and nurture each other’s talents and recognise and acknowledge determination, perseverance and effort.

We aspire for all children to achieve their very best regardless of their ability or background. All achievements are celebrated including those that are big, small, academic, sporting, creative, personal, collaborative and those in our community. Together, we will empower our children to develop their knowledge, skills and character to excel academically and prepare them for the wider world.

The GLA is a family of schools who work together to provide exceptional learning opportunities for 2,500 children aged two to 11. We have about 350 staff, whose success and wellbeing is a high priority for us. Our trust began in 2013 and now comprises 9 primary schools in Gloucestershire and Worcestershire. Each of our schools is rooted in its community, while benefiting from being part of a wider, outward-looking trust. 

The GLA is an inclusive trust and welcomes all children. We have a dedicated Special Educational Needs and Disabilities lead who works across all schools to ensure children’s needs are met. We have a strong track record in school improvement and work closely with the local authority and Department for Education. We continue to develop partnerships and links that can help influence and improve teaching and learning as well as the welfare of our children and staff.
