The Greensand Multi-Academy Trust is looking to appoint a highly organised, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to take on the role of Lead Governance Professional and Company Secretary. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of governance effectiveness and compliance, managing the interface between the Trust Board, subcommittees and Greensand senior leaders.

You will also:

  • be strategically and operationally responsible for the support and guidance required to maintain and improve governance across our Trust
  • ensure that the Local Academy Committees operate effectively and efficiently within the governance structure
  • advise the Board of Trustees and sub-committees of their statutory duties and responsibilities, governance procedures and good practice
  • manage and develop an effective clerking team who deliver a full governance service across the Trust

The ideal candidate will:

  • have knowledge of governance procedures and legislation 
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • be forward thinking, creative, receptive to change and able to work as part of a multi-disciplined team
  • manage your time effectively and able to work towards deadlines
  • be well organised, methodical and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • have a positive and flexible approach while managing a diverse and demanding workload

This is a part time term time role working 3 days per week over 39 weeks per annum. There may be some occasions where the successful candidate would be asked to attend trustee and governor meetings which take place in the evenings. This would be to enable the job holder to monitor and assess the quality of governance in the Trust and/or to provide specific guidance on legalities and/or specific procedures. 

The full time equivalent annual salary is £35,024 to £39,502 and the pro rata annual salary is £18,078 to £20,390.
